Text someone something nice on Tuesday

Do at least one Little Big Thing sometime over the next week

    Seeing the unseen

When I left your talk, I took a walk before office hours' appts. I ran into the ex-partner of a guy in my condo building -- they've had a very fraught, tension-filled relationship. I felt very open-hearted when we stopped on the street. I would come to find out that they felt very unseen, as they use the same pronouns as I do (she/they) and saw me wearing a button with those pronouns the last time I saw them at our bldg. They felt sad to miss getting to connect to a few of us who knew them through their partner. We exchanged numbers and made a plan to have coffee. I feel that there was something energetically that was transmitted from your talk into that exchange.

A small cost for big joy

I was so excited to find a Pink Circle card during Faye's lecture. After exchanging it for a new card with a $20 bill, I found Ahmadou in the Library and Learning Commons, where he is a student tutor. I placed the card in front of him and told him to turn it over. His smile and laugh made my day. It's hours later and I still feel the joy! I met Ahmadou in spring of 2020 via the Black Scholars Mentorship program. Ahmadou is finishing up his coursework as a double major, Engineering Science and Math, and will graduate this summer.

    The power of connections

After the talk, I met up with a young person who was in need of a job. I knew someone hiring so connected the two. To help the young person get ready for the interview I gave them $20. I also brought my professor a cup of tea because she likes tea very much and it made her day.
